Dar abasto es la manera adecuada de escribir la expresión que significa ‘bastar,rendir lo suficiente’. La forma dar a basto, en tres palabras, es incorrecta.
Aunque resulta frecuente leer frases en las que aparece dar a basto, lo correcto es escribir dar abasto, ya que esta locución está formada por el verbo dary por el sustantivo abasto (‘provisión de víveres’) y quiere decir ‘rendir lo suficiente’.
